Why One Heart McKinney exists

Having services available is not the same as being able to find and access them.

We connect the whole community and help people reach multiple resources without repeatedly navigating disconnected organizations or telling their story over and over.

We help people who need help find help.

Nearly 12,000 McKinney residents live below the federal poverty level.

That can be easy to overlook in a city where the median household income is $124,215.

A request for food may reveal a family that also needs employment, transportation, or mental-health support.

More than one-third of McKinney ISD students are economically disadvantaged.

Approximately 1 out of every 3 students, according to the Texas Education Agency.

CarePortal - Coming Soon!

CarePortal connects people with specific needs to people who want to help meet those needs. Local agencies add needs to CarePortal, and trained volunteers respond to the requests for help. This powerful process is currently in the testing phase here, but it has already helped thousands of people in other communities just like ours.

The Neighbor Hub - Under Construction!

The Neighbor Hub will be a resource center designed to make getting help much easier. Numerous groups are working together to offer nutrition, medical care, legal aid, education and more ... all under one roof. We are gathering partners and in the groundbreaking phase as of August 2026.
