Cheneda Samuel on community panel

The McKinney Chamber of Commerce Inclusion Council recently spotlighted inspiring women on a panel, including Cheneda Samuel, Director of Navigation for One Heart McKinney. “I love what I do. I love helping people to get to a resolution. If it just a listening ear or providing a solution, I want to be able to do that with compassion and care,” she said.
The McKinney Chamber of Commerce Inclusion Council recently spotlighted some of the most inspiring women in Collin County, honoring their invaluable contributions to the nonprofit world.
“Women in Non-Profit: Making an Impact in North Texas” was hosted by Independent Financial on Thursday, May 9, and featured an inspiring guest panel, including our own Cheneda Samuel, Director of Navigation for One Heart McKinney.
Cheneda shared that the key to philanthropy is 3 things: Voice, Time, and Money. “No one will know about your passion unless you voice the cause, spend time researching the need, and then seek funding,” she said. “I love what I do. I love helping people to get to a resolution. If it just a listening ear or providing a solution, I want to be able to do that with compassion and care. Helping others it part of our purpose of life.”
Other women on the panel:
• Lexie Okeke, Salesmanship Club
• Maylee Thomas, Love Life Foundation
• Allison Monroe, Volunteer McKinney
The panel, led by Lauren Smith, Executive Director at Hugs Cafe, Inc., and MIC Advisory Board Member, brought a wealth of experience and unique perspectives, offering deep insights into the evolving role of women in philanthropy. The evening included opportunities for mingling and networking, fostering connections among community members dedicated to making a positive impact.
